Fabio is a guitar player, singer and producer. He grew up in Lugano (Switzerland) and at the age of 19 he moved to Bern to study jazz guitar at the Arts University (HKB). He graduated in 2011 and moved to Lausanne to study music pedagogy at the HEMU. In 2011, Fabio composed and produced his first record (Metamorphosis, EnFace). In 2012 he created the band Marquis Malanga (ex Kamikaze) and produced an experimental record (Alpha, Jazzwerkstatt Records, 2012) followed by a tour in Swiss venues. In 2014 he produced Marquis Malanga's second EP (Beta, Mouthwatering Records, 2014) and a videoclip. Both the music and video gained attention from the international press. In 2015 Marquis Malanga produced a second EP (Velvet Ghetto, Mouthwatering Records 2015) and two music videos. In 2017 Marquis Malanga produced a the new single Active Naive with the label On the Camper Records, owned by the fellow-band Peter Kernel. Fabio plays guitar as a sideman with Domi Chansorn, (winner of the 2012 M4Music Demo of the Year Award) and Soraya Ksontini. He was guitar professor at the Conservatory of Fribourg from 2013 until 2020. He’s currently co-producing Billie Bird’s new album and his own band Monte Mai’s new album. He’s also soundtrack composer for film and podcasts and audio producer.
